Louise Lohman's Noby Cake

1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 T. butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
3 c. apples, diced
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Cream together butter and sugar. Add rest of ingredients. Bake 35 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream or any sauce. Serves 4 to 6.
