Interested in having a better understanding of AADL's Music Tools collection? Then this program is for you! AADL Staff will give a demonstration of the different drum machines that populate our collection and help you to get the most out of each instrument.

Geared for beginners but open to all skill levels, we will have demonstration and instruction followed by open jamming with some of our Music Tools.

Music Tools you'll meet include the Pocket Operator set, Volca Beats,TR-8 , and OP-1.

Drawing for Adults: Flowers and Leaves in Graphite

This event is intended for grade 9 through adult

Come draw with us! We'll provide everything you need to practice your drawing skills. In this session you'll draw flowers and leaves using drawing pencils.

Every other week we’ll cover a different topic. You’ll learn different techniques to tackle texture, chiaroscuro, and perspective, plus improve your sense of composition, lighting, and form. You'll get the chance to try out different mediums like pencil, charcoal, and pastel. All skill levels are welcome to participate.

Emerging Writers: Writing and Review Meet-Up

This event is intended for grade 6 - adult

Come with questions, a work in progress, or an empty notebook. All writers are welcome in this casual, supportive environment. Authors Bethany Neal and Alex Kourvo will be on hand to answer questions and give encouragement. This is an excellent opportunity to meet your fellow Ann Arbor writers as well as get feedback from published authors.

This is a monthly meet-up that welcomes all writers to ask questions, connect with other writers, or simply have a dedicated time and place to work on their projects.

Fiber Arts Lab: Knitting

Join us every other Monday for an evening of knitting and crochet. We will provide everything you need to get started. Stop in and learn the basics. You can bring a project you've been working on, or just stop by to practice your stitches. We welcome all skill levels, no prior knowledge is necessary.

Self-Care Through Movement, Mindfulness, and Meditation: Owning My Story & Taking Control

Brian Truskowski of BMT Wellness returns with a new spin on his self-care classes.

This class will explore mindfulness of our words and actions, and trying them on in a group setting. We will also practice letting go of old stories and beliefs to allow for growth.

This self-empowerment class is for people who want to go deeper in their lives, connect with a part of themselves they may not know, and do it in a safe space. This monthly series will run through November. The classes will build upon each other, but each class stands on its own, so attendees may join any time.

Brian is a licensed Bodyworker and Massage Therapist in Ann Arbor and a member of the ManKind Project, whose mission is to raise the consciousness of the planet.
