Sewing Lab

This event is intended for grade 6 - adult

Join us for an evening of sewing.

We will have our lab's machines set up and staff will be on hand to show you the basics. You can bring a project you've been working on, or just stop by to practice your stitches.

We welcome all skill levels. No prior knowledge is necessary. You are free to bring your own sewing machine and join our growing sewing community.

Jane Austen-Inspired Embroidery

This event is intended for grade 6 - adult

Join us for an evening of embroidery and Austen! There will be a short presentation on needlework in the Austen era and a demonstration of embroidery styles and stitches. Each attendee will create their own needlework keepsake—a personalized, monogrammed handkerchief—with plenty of guidance to get those stitches started.

This event is a partnership with the University of Michigan The Life and Times of Lizzy Bennet Exhibit.

#metoo: Why Talking about Sexual Harassment Matters and Where We Go from Here

Barbara Neiss, Director of SafeHouse Center will discuss the concepts of sexual assault, harassment, and rape. Learn how to recognize these crimes and what to do if someone you know is a victim.

This program is in partnership with SAFE House Center as part of National Stalking Awareness Month.
