Date and Nut Bars

Beat yolks of 2 eggs, add 1 cup of sugar, then 2 teaspoonfuls of hot water, 1 tablespoonful melted butter, 1/2 cup milk alternately with 1 cup flour and 1 tablespoonful of salt, 1/2 teaspoonful Royal baking powder, 1/2 teaspoonful cinnamon; add 1 box of dates, cut up fine; 1/2 cup walnut meats. Fold in the beaten whites of 2 eggs. Bake slow for 20 or 30 minutes. Cut in bars and roll in powdered sugar.

Two eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup molasses, 1/2 cup sour milk, 3 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup raisins--seeded and chopped, 2 teaspoons of Wyandotte soda, 2 teaspoons of ginger. Spread thin in the pan. Bake in moderate oven. When nearly cold cut in squares.

Melt 1/4 Cup butter in double boiler in it melt 2 squares Bakers Chocolate. Let cool. Beat in gradually 2 beaten eggs, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 cup of nut meats. Bake in slow oven 20 minutes. While warm cut in squares.

One cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cake chocolate
1 pound walnut meats, chopped fine
1 cup flour

Spread thin in large bread pan. When done cut in small squares.

Flour tin and drop in small quantity.

Two squares chocolate
3 eggs
1/2 cup butter
1 level cup sugar
1 level teaspoonful Royal baking powder
3/4 cup flour
teaspoonful vanilla
2-3 cup nut meats.

Bake 15 minutes in shallow pan and then cut in squares.

2 eggs

Spread on greased paper, 4 T. B. flour in pan, 1 cup powdered sugar. Bake 40 minutes in oven.

Three eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar
5 tablespoonfuls hot water
1 pound dates and 1 cup nut meats, cut up fine
1 cup flour
2 teaspoonfuls Royal baking powder
1/2 teaspoonful cinnamon
dash of nutmeg if you wish.

Bake in a sheet 30 minutes. While hot sift powdered sugar over top. Cut in strips 1 1/2x3 inches.

Mix:
one cup of honey
one tablespoon butter
one teaspoon vegetable salt
one tablespoon hot water
two well-beaten eggs
one teaspoon baking powder
one pound chopped dates
half pound pecans
and one one cup of whole wheat flour

Spread dough on oiled paper and cut into sticks. Bake in slow oven for 45 minutes.

One cup English walnuts
1 teaspoonful Royal baking powder
1 cup dates
1 teaspoonful vanilla
1 cup "XXXX" sugar
2 eggs, yolks and whites beaten separately
3 tablespoonfuls flour
1 teaspoonful vanilla

1. Mix nuts and dates, then add yolks, sugar and vanilla.
2. Add flour, sifted with baking powder.
3. Fold in whites, beaten very light.
4. Bake in a flat pan, paper on bottom, in a slow oven 40 minutes.
5. When cold cut in strips about - inch wide, then through the middle.
