new generation french cook submitted by unknown on August 28, 2007, 10:54am This book has inspired me to make cheese souffles. Most of the recipes require ingredients that are easily available. The instructions are easy to follow. Each recipe has a charming introduction. One of my favorites describe a savory cake loaf; containing tomato, pistachio and chorizo as "a flavor-packed menage a trois". I like to see new ways to use common ingredients, but some such as chicken liver and fig terrine does not appeal. The photos are beautiful, Clotilde took most of these herself. The desserts are amazing. There is a chocolate and zucchine cake that looks good. We make carrot cake, so I really don't think this is such a leap. This book is a fun read and I am going to buy it for my cook-book shelf. I am looking forward to trying the Honey Spice Loaf soon.
